Rolex has expanded its Perpetual collection with the new Perpetual Padellone, a watch featuring an instantaneous complete annual calendar.
The timepiece displays the date, day, month and moonphase alongside the hours, minutes and seconds, combining a traditional calendar complication with the brand’s latest technical developments.
Named after Rolex reference 8171, known among collectors as the Padellone, the new model measures 39mm in diameter and features a domed and subtly fluted bezel. Its dial has a grained finish, with the day and month displayed through two apertures at 12 o’clock and a blue enamelled moonphase disc at 6 o’clock. The full and new moons are rendered in meteorite, while silver stars are pad printed.
At its centre is calibre 7190, an automatic movement developed and manufactured by Rolex exclusively for the Padellone. It operates at a frequency of 5 hertz and incorporates the Dynapulse escapement and patented Haplos system, which accounts for 30-day and 31-day months. The date, day and month change instantaneously at midnight.
The watch is available in 18 ct Everose gold or 950 platinum, with several bracelet and strap configurations. It carries Rolex’s Superlative Chronometer certification and a five-year international guarantee.
