One of the world’s biggest winter festivals happens in Iceland this year, from 24 March – 3 April. Skiers and winter sports enthusiasts will flock to Akureyri, the ski capital of the country for events not seen anywhere else.
How about ski jumps in the shape of volcanoes? Or mountain to sea skiing, Arctic horseback riding or dog sledding championships? This year there are over 60 events to watch plus plenty of adrenaline filled side adventures for you, from snowmobile tours to super jeeps, helicopters and schooner boats powered by green energy.
