Valentino’s Spring 2016 collection harmoniously blends elements within a rich, diverse texture. Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli follow the concept of an imaginary journey as an accumulation of different moods, exploring the power of fusion as an expression of one’s personality and individuality through style.
Accessories are a fundamental element within this concept, as exciting and inventive as a large rock concert: they are distinctive elements that are a form of self-expression. Jewellery with feathers and hard stones complete the lavish and harmonious aesthetic of the collection.
The collection reinterprets Valentino’s contemporary classics with new decorative verve. Leather Rockstud bags are covered in metal studs, hard stones and turquoise for intense, eye-catching opulence. The same embellishments decorate sandals and are intertwined with feathers.
A Native American mood characterises the My Rockstud bags. Colourful bands, inspired by guitar straps, decorate bags and shoes, adding a strong, vibrant graphic touch. Delicate filigree flowers lightly intertwine like garlands on leather sandals. Off-white nuances and delicate hues are the choice for iguana leather boots. Small Plexiglas bags are precious accessories for the evening. Black brocade or embroidered butterflies return. Hand craftsmanship is a common trait: an absolute value of objects created following one’s instinct and imagination.
This new variation in black printed calfskin leather is introduced to eight Rockstud styles, the platinum pyramid studs are replaced by alternating turquoise stones and antique silver studs. This variation is also available on footwear styles in the Mexico group; and a special removable guitar-inspired strap is introduced to the Rockstud shoulder bag and Rockstud Double tote.
