Dubai’s cultural calendar may be quieter during August, but there is still plenty to discover indoors. From internationally recognised artists to contemporary explorations of colour and Gulf heritage, these three exhibitions are worth visiting this month.
Summer Vibes, Opera Gallery Dubai
Summer Vibes brings together several generations of modern and contemporary art through painting, sculpture and mixed media. Works by Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall and Fernando Botero appear alongside contemporary names including Yayoi Kusama, KAWS, Shepard Fairey, Julian Opie and Manolo Valdés.
Highlights range from Kusama’s Infinity Nets to KAWS’ monumental Companion (Grey Colorway), creating an accessible exhibition that explores how artistic expression has evolved across decades.

Tangerine Dreams, Ayyam Gallery
Ayyam Gallery uses the colour orange as the starting point for Tangerine Dreams, exploring its associations with heat, sunlight, energy, abundance and memory.
The group exhibition features artists including Tammam Azzam, Thaier Helal, Mouteea Murad, Abdalla Al Omari, Sama Alshaibi and Khaled Takreti. Across painting, collage, mixed media and photography, orange shifts from bold and immediate to quiet and nostalgic.

Interwoven, House of Arts
The inaugural exhibition at House of Arts brings together 20 artists and designers from across the Gulf, presented throughout 14 gallery spaces.
Inspired by the region’s weaving traditions, Interwoven explores how thread, fibre and repeated patterns can carry ideas of memory, identity and belonging. Historic techniques are placed in dialogue with contemporary practices, showing how weaving continues to influence Gulf creativity today.
