Weekend Max Mara has unveiled its Spring/Summer 2027 Signature Collection, “A Weekend with Marie-Louise Sciò,” created in collaboration with the Pellicano Hotels group’s CEO and Creative Director, whose name gives the collection its title.
The collection is presented as an ideal suitcase for a weekend away, bringing together pieces designed to transition between work and leisure. Its starting point is Sciò’s own summer routine. Every Friday, she leaves her office in Rome and moves between different destinations, balancing her professional life with the worlds associated with the Pellicano Hotels lifestyle brand.
“I wanted to create a collection that felt entirely removed from office dressing while remaining practical and effortlessly glamorous,” says Sciò. “Everything is designed to transition smoothly from day to night, especially during the summer when I’m constantly moving between different places with one suitcase.”
Versatility and modularity are central to the collection, alongside an Italian approach to elegance. Silhouettes are fluid and roomy, while retaining tailored elements. A kimono jacket is paired with matching shorts, while the safari jacket is reinterpreted across a jacket, patch-pocketed skirt, blouse and playsuit.
Dresses feature full, billowy silhouettes, while gently flared trousers are styled with blouses featuring structured collars or ruched tops. A blouson jacket provides an additional layer for cooler moments.
The fabric selection includes crisp cotton, stretch cotton piqué, viscose neoprene, silk and cotton blends, and a washed linen blend. The colour palette is centred on ivory, navy blue, khaki, chocolate brown, beige and sage green, with saffron yellow and rust orange used as accents.
Accessories bring a metallic element to the collection. The Pasticcino Bag is presented in pleated gold nappa, while chunky costume jewellery and ballerinas and mules in silver and gold add further shine.
The collection is designed to cover the full itinerary of a summer weekend, from arrival and daytime activities to brunches and evening occasions, reflecting Sciò’s emphasis on pieces that can move between settings with a single suitcase.
