For Valentino’s accessories, special detailed craftsmanship is introduced as the trims of the SS16 ready-to-wear prints featuring animals are entirely hand-painted on handbags and shoes. These patterns are inspired by traditional African body painting.

Each design is first traced onto a brass plate, that is then used to heat deboss the patterns into the Stampa Alce leather base. Each panel that composes the item is deboss separately and then assembled. Every single part of the pattern is then hand-painted by expert painters. Lastly these patterns are detailed with multi-coloured semi-precious cabochon stones.
