Photographer and video maker Terry Richardson was born in New York in 1965. He originally wanted to be a punk rock musician rather than a photographer, but in the early ‘90s he quit music and moved to the East Village neighbourhood of New York City. He began shooting scenes of young people partying and New York City’s nightlife. Since then he has shot and produced several campaigns for fashion brands and directed music videos.
It seemed fitting that he was the man behind the new Valentino Rockstud Spike Bag video that was shot in Lower Manhattan, NYC. After many years of iconic studio still life campaigns, Richardson takes Valentino Garavani to the streets of New York for the new accessories advertising video campaign. The edgy and cool footage features Rockstud Spike bags in various spots between Chinatown and Little Italy. The concept is thought to be continuous, this is the first chapter of a series of episodes that will be shot for the next seasons. Watch this space!
