There were so many beauty trends to indulge in over the past 12 months, but some were made for the runway and that’s where they should stay.
OTT Hair
Everything Pierpaolo Piccioli does at Valentino is magic, but we simply can’t pull off the larger than life hair. Granted, models like Kaia Gerber did sport the do via a wig, but even so no amount of backcombing will ever survive the Dubai humidity.
Artistic Brows
There are eyebrows for every day, and there are eyebrows that are just for the ‘gram. Huda Beauty was not the only one to trial something a little more creative, but her tiger brows are by far the most memorable. As visually fascinating as they are, it’s not something we will be keeping on our Pinterest board.
Glitter Ball
No one could stop snapping the dazzling complexions at Giambattista Valli fall runways in Paris. It’s perfect for editorial shoots and Halloween, but we don’t think anyone can get away with this on Sunday at the office. Plus, it will take you forever to get all the glitter off.
Magical Locks
From rainbow to unicorn hair, a number of us dared to try something a little different. You wouldn’t look out of place at a music festival.
Like The 90’s
Scrunchies and crocodile clips made a comeback on the runway, but never fully into our daily routine – apart from the gym.
And the one trend we will keep for 2019…
Mellow Yellow
Thanks to Margot Robbie, the beauty world has fallen in love with a deep yellow hue. Do like the makeup artist Pati Dubroff and emphasise the lashes while keeping the cheeks and lips pretty in pink.
