Your Essential Summer ‘23 Beach Makeup Tips

Beach makeup should be light, natural, and designed to withstand the sun, sand, and water. The goal of beach makeup is to look fresh and natural while protecting your skin. Embrace your natural beauty and enjoy your time in the sun! Here are some tips to achieve a fresh and radiant beach makeup look.

Start with sunscreen as a base

Before applying any makeup, make sure to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays.

Skip heavy foundation

Opt for a lightweight and breathable tinted moisturizer or BB cream instead of a heavy foundation. This will even out your skin tone without feeling too heavy. Similarly, be sure to only use a little lightweight concealer where needed, such as under the eyes or to cover any blemishes. Blend well for a seamless finish.

Bronzer for warmth

A light dusting of bronzer on the high points of your face (forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin) will give you a sun-kissed glow. Make sure to blend well for a natural look.

Cream blush

If you use blush, go for a cream option which gives a natural flush to your cheeks and has a more dewy finish compared to powder blush. Apply it to the apples of your cheeks and blend with your fingers.

Don’t forget waterproof mascara

Opt for a waterproof mascara to prevent smudging due to sweat or water. Waterproof formulas are more resilient and will stay put throughout your beach activities.

Minimal eye makeup

Overdoing eye makeup up can look too much at the beach. Keep your eye makeup minimal. You can apply a neutral eyeshadow shade on your eyelids and define your lashes with waterproof mascara. Avoid heavy eyeliner as it might smudge in the heat.

Tinted lip balm

Choose a tinted lip balm with SPF to add a touch of colour to your lips while keeping them moisturized and protected from the sun.

Set your look

Finish your beach makeup with a setting spray to help your makeup last longer in the heat and humidity. Look for a setting spray with SPF for added sun protection.

Touch-Up Essentials

Pack a small makeup bag with essentials like blotting papers, a travel-sized sunscreen, lip balm, and a mini brush or sponge for quick touch-ups throughout the day.

Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out. Hydrated skin holds makeup better and looks more radiant.
