Kronthaler Creates An Ode To His Late Wife For Vivienne Westwood SS24

Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood presented one of the most personal collections at this year’s Paris Fashion Week on Saturday.

The Creative Director – who was the husband of the late designer – presented an ode to his wife’s wardrobe for his second show for the house.

He initially included 34 looks in the SS24 collection, as that was the number of years he knew Westwood, before expanding to 40 separate looks.

He took inspiration from earlier this year, when he unpacked his late wife’s wardrobe, which included around 250 looks.

A key piece in the collection was inspired by a key brown corduroy suit from Westwood’s wardrobe for the past twenty years. Kronthaler took the piece and created something new – in a paler palette.

The collection was filled with life, passion and punk, and felt like the perfect tribute to the late designer.
