Resort 2019: Prada

For the very first time, the Italian brand Prada takes over New York City to launch its Resort 2019 collection.

After visiting the stellar theme for the fall season, but this time around Miuccia Prada never short of attitude, brings back the ‘90s in full force, staged in the vibrant city that never sleeps. Designs were reminiscent of the iconic Glen Luchford’s Prada featuring Amber Valettaa; introducing a series of short-sleeved turtlenecks, narrow-waisted silhouettes and heavy gauge tights.

Inspired by the techno-modest era of the ‘90s, there were lots of geometric prints, delicate fabric, tailored shapes. Featuring an athleisure touch with typical mix-match of minimalism and maximalism, making it Prada’s most memorable.

“It’s a kind of fantasy of reality” Miuccia describes her multi-coloured collection backstage. The muted yet vibrant palette of funky patterns, including oversized jacquard hats with frilled details and the ever-essential presence of the logo, gave the restrained collection the perfect balance suitable for transitional dressing.
