Celine Showcases “Symphonie Fantastique” For Homme Winter 24

Celine unveiled the house’s Homme Winter 24 collection this afternoon, titled “Symphonie Fantastique”.

For the new collection, Hedi Slimane was inspired by the song which holds the same name and was composed in 1830 by 26-year-old French composer Hector Berlioz.

Described as the work of a “lovesick musician” by American conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein, the work has also been referred to by many creatives as the predecessor to the spirit of the 1960s.

Berlioz described his symphony as an “immense instrumental composition of a new genre.” In the aftermath of its first public presentation, critics were taken aback by its modernity and reviewed it as “the almost inconceivable strangeness one could ever imagine.”
