Roger Vivier has revealed its latest campaign, featuring award-winning actress and friend of the House, Eva Green, in the second installation of the Vivier Express: “Travelling Icons”.

The campaign is a nod to Hollywood’s golden age with a modern twist, pairing the luxury French shoe Maison’s iconic designs with a cinematic narrative that blurs the lines between the corporeal and a dreamscape. Italian Directors Andrea Danese, Nicolangelo Gelormini, and Studio Paura partner with writer Andrea Danese for the latest work. Episode II unfolds aboard the Vivier Express, a luxurious train journey into noir-inspired mystery and intrigue.

The campaign marks the second episode of the Vivier Express series, conceptualized by Creative Director Gherardo Felloni, whose passion for high art and cinematic expression shines through in this continuation of a truly immersive campaign experience. Where Episode I featured Laura Dern in a world of elegance with playful undertones, Episode II veers into darker, more mysterious territory, adopting the aesthetics of classic film noir. Felloni, drawing inspiration from icons such as Lauren Bacall and Bette Davis, has cast Green as a modern-day femme fatale – a vision of elegance and enigma.

A Journey into the Depths of Mystery

As the train glides into dusk, viewers are invited into Green’s world. Dressed impeccably in a black tailored suit, striking red I Love Vivier heels, and carrying a Viv’ Choc bag, Green sits by her cabin window, immersed in a book. The Vivier Express itself is as much a character as the actress, embodying the era’s opulence and offering a glamorous, intimate backdrop to the unfolding mystery. Felloni’s vision here is nothing short of cinematic, with Green’s classic allure fitting seamlessly into a world of shadow and intrigue, each glance and gesture amplifying the film’s underlying tension.

The plot teases the audience with suspense: a mysterious presence, as elusive as Green herself, flickers in and out of view. The encounter is left deliberately ambiguous – an alter ego, perhaps, or a rival? The thrill lies in the unanswered questions. Viewers are never sure if the drama is unfolding in Green’s mind, or if the boundaries of her reality have started to dissolve. Surrealism and psychological tension punctuate the scenes, lending the campaign a sophisticated, dreamlike quality.

Celebrating Iconic Fashion Through Film

Eva Green was arguably the ideal choice for this role. Known for her fierce individuality and fearless fashion sense, Green’s career has seen her bring roles to life that are as layered as they are magnetic. “It’s been my absolute pleasure to work with Gherardo Felloni. The first time I met him, it was a complete ‘coup de foudre’ (love at first sight) for the wonderful man and his beautiful shoes! I was delighted to be cast in his film for Roger Vivier and look forward to sharing it with audiences,” Green shares, her enthusiasm for the project palpable.

Meanwhile, Felloni emphasizes the allure of classic noir. “Films noir have always fascinated me. It’s a world where shadows speak, and every glance hides a secret. I wanted Eva to be our modern-day femme fatale; she doesn’t just wear the shoes and accessories – she brings them to life, infusing them with a sense of danger and desire.” Green’s presence, paired with the Maison’s signature creations, does just that. She transcends fashion, embodying a timeless elegance that mirrors the allure of Roger Vivier’s own designs.
