For the Spring/Summer 2020 Armani Privé Haute Couture collection the designer collection delved into the world of ikat, a special kind of dyeing technique that was introduced into the fashion industry in the sixties.
Armani created garments that catch the eye with their creative patterns and decorative details.
Each piece is designed to be a gesture of joy while evoking the elegance and sophistication we know and love from Armani.
It was all about details. Embroideries, prints, crystal-encrusted tulle, beading and more made these garments exquisite, while the use of taffeta, embroidered tulle and lightweight crinoline created volume and lightness.
Cigarette trousers paired with chic one-button blazers. Prints contrasted with simple separates. Simple was juxtaposed with texture to create a contrast. Silhouettes were slim and fitted while there was a nod to the 1920s thanks to the short-cropped wigs.
The colour palette comprised of green, cornflower blue, fuchsia, red and black. Bold colours were paired with gold and neutral tones to add highlights.
A truly wearable collection for the sophisticated woman of today.
