Fashion designer Ralph Lauren is to be honoured at the CFDA Awards with a first ever Members Salute in the history of the event.

Around 500 member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America will pay tribute to the designer next month. Celebrating 50 years of the label, it is one of the most successful fashion brands from the US with a global fan base selling everything from clothing, homeware and fragrance.

“From starting with a tie at Bloomingdale’s to building a global brand, I respect and admire everything that Ralph Lauren stands for, including his philanthropy and kindness,” CFDA chairwoman Diane von Furstenberg said about the news.

The icon of American fashion has previously been honoured at the annual awards with a CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award in 1991 and the CFDA American Fashion Legend Award in 2007. Capturing the idea of what a true lifestyle brand can be, Ralph Lauren continues to entice customers and we can’t wait to see what he does next.

CFDA Awards take place on June.
