Day one of Paris Fashion Week comes to a close with beautiful colours, striking textures and floral prints dominating Saint Laurent’s dramatic style.
Inspirations taken from the brand’s archives and translated into today’s post-modern Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello, for his FW18 he reinterpreted volume and glamour of the ‘80s with the cool attitude of the 2000s. One can’t deny that the collection was very much Vaccarello, included rocking disco boots, draped-rhinestone-coloured-shoulder dresses and of course exaggerated maxi-bijoux.
Once again Vaccarello pulls of a magnificent set right in front of the Eiffel Tower in the heart of City of Lights. The dangerously sexy collection comes with an after-dark glamourous spirit, where he takes us on an all-black power dressing journey for day, while the vividly hued sequined florals are kept for the evenings with an edge.
With Saint Laurent references throughout, there were plenty of leather and rock boots. Including body-hugging silhouettes and the brand’s signature mini-dresses that set the tone of the collection, which was alsofully packed with elaborated accessories like hats and headscarves, suitable for the eccentric and self-confident woman out there.
Seems like the already established rock style of Anthony Vaccarello is here to stay and intents on continuing with a clear vision of modern dressing done right.
