Marchesa’s Resort 2018 collection was inspired by the interior designer Tony Duquette. Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, the design duo behind the fashion house, took cues from Duquette’s interiors and film sets, and channelled his love for whimsical dreamscapes and all things lavish.

There were familiar silhouettes and details in the styles that we are used to seeing from Marchesa; layers of tulle, ombre colouration, feathers and intricate embellishments. More structured gowns with folds in the bodice gave a newer approach to recent seasons and a little more drama with their Duquette influence. Also there was a new floral print that stood out as fresh against the usual red-carpet ready offerings.
