Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne has been unveiled as the new face of Prada menswear. He stars in their new autumn/winter 2016 campaign shot by Craig McDean. Prada stated: “Redmayne is no stranger to immersing himself in historically significant characters. He, here, assumed a number of roles: hero, villain, revolutionary.”
The brand’s Instagram account described “19th-century neo-classical paintings” as the inspiration for the shoot. One of the images said: “A strident and statuesque pose of Eddie Redmayne as captured in the backstage of the Prada FW16 Menswear Advertising Campaign.” Another image stated: “Eddie Redmayne portrays a contemporary masculinity that aligns worldly travel with intrepid self-knowledge and oblique, original thinking.”
