International Yoga Day for 2019 lands on June 21st, and here’s some inspiration for taking on the meditative sport for the occasion.
YogaFest will take place in Dubai in November 2019
An ancient practise, yet yoga still remains a beloved and popular form of both exercise and relaxation in 2019. In fact, as more and more people who weren’t raised with yoga as a part of their lives are introducing themselves to the series of stretches and chants, it’s becoming more popular than ever.
In celebration of the old and new of the physical practise, International Yoga Day will fall on Friday, June 21st for 2019. So whether you’re an expert or a beginner, here are some ways to get into the occasion.
Stretch out on Cove Beach
Celebrate International Yoga Day by heading to one of Dubai’ newest locations – Ceasars Palace Bluewaters Island resort – to enjoy a free yoga session with Fitness First on 21 June. The session runs between 5.30 – 7pm, but gates open from 4.30pm. Register online beforehand here.
Attend a family yoga event
Over at Al Jalila Children’s Hospital in Al Jaddaf in Dubai, a family yoga event will take place on the special day with the aim to set a world record for the largest parent and child yoga gathering. Charm Yoga Dubai and Kidzapp are partnering on the ambitious project, and you can register on the website here.
Attend a wellness workshop
The Studio – Abu Dhabi’s first ladies-only yoga sanctuary – is holding a special event for International Yoga Day on the Saturday 22nd instead, meaning you can stretch (pun intended) out your celebration over the weekend. The Studio’s founder Mariam will be holding a women’s wellness workshop event featuring Mat Pilates with Nola, Fulfilment Coaching with Yee, Guided Meditation with Amanda and an ‘Energy Bites’ session with Mariam. See more here.
Watch the sunrise as you pose
More of an early riser? Make your way over to Jumeirah Beach on Saturday the 22nd (making sure you’ve registered with Gulf For Good first) and the complimentary session on the sand that’s perfect for beginners.
