Tod’s celebrated the circus world of Federico Fellini in New York yesterday. Dante Ferretti is a three-times Academy Award Winner for set design and he created a spectacular set for Tod’s Holiday windows in Madison Avenue, recreating a part of Fellini’s world. Ferretti specially designed an interactive two-dimensional circus fit with a lion tamer and juggler, for the perfect photo-op that invited guests to enter the world of Fellini.

“The idea was to create something special. I’ve been working with Fellini for so many years and the circus was one of his great passions. It’s also an important theme in some of his movies. I wanted to recreate this mood. Both Fellini and I were born in a little town and I remember spending many Christmas holidays at the circus, so this is how the project came up,” said Dante Ferretti.

Special guests included Naomi Watts, Jack Huston, Jourdan Dunn, Derek Blasberg,  Johannes Huebl, Emanuele and Joanna Della Valle, Waris Ahluwalia and Martha Hunt. Guests enjoyed circus-themed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails while listening to DJ Stella Schnabel.

Especially for this occasion, Tod’s launched a limited edition of bags with the iconic sign of Double T – the timeless style with a circus touch, which is available exclusively at Tod’s Madison Avenue boutique. The white-black leather stripes, deliberately irregular, with stars that embellish the shoulder strap, recall the aesthetics of the circus.
