Dubai continues to push the boundaries and their latest venture is an extremely exciting prospect. Those with a love for shopping and all things botanical will get to experience the world’s first nature inspired shopping mall and it is set to open in the second quarter of 2018, adjacent to Global Village. The 1.1 billion mall will feature an open air botanical garden, consisting of 200,000 square feet of “awe-inspiring floral specimens”. The mall will also feature a water park, a 300-year-old ancient tree garden, a Japanese garden, a rooftop garden a walking track and numerous restaurants and cafes.

Dubai’s push for the performing arts means that many cultural events will also take place here, within a 3,000-seat amphitheater and a mini theater for children. For the fashion conscious, the mall will house over 350 retail stores of which 50 per cent will be fashion related as well as housing a movie theater and convenience stores.

“This property furthers our legacy in championing green spaces that deliver meaningful entertainment and a refreshing retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life,” said Abdel Naser Rahhal, vice chairman of Cityland Group.“We are bucking the trend of visitors leaving the mall premises with only shopping bags. With Cityland Mall, they will also take home a part of nature and start the next day with rejuvenated spirit.”

The Cityland mall is set to start construction imminently and will certainly be a new and interesting place for those to spend the day. We particularly like how this mall caters to a variety of interests and is another example of Dubai’s forward thinking and push for cultural expansion.
