Louis Vuitton is taking its Art of Travel onto the road through a collaboration with Singer, the California-based specialist celebrated for its personalised restorations of classic Porsche 911s. The project brings together two reimagined cars, with bespoke luggage, accessories and clothing designed around the experience of driving.
The first, a Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer – Classic, embraces colour. Its saffron exterior is punctuated by cobalt blue and yellow, referencing both Louis Vuitton’s visual identity and the use of national colours in motor racing. The cabin is upholstered in natural leather inspired by the pale hides used on the House’s luggage, finished with yellow saddle stitching and diamond embossing reminiscent of vintage trunk interiors.
Monogram Flowers are worked into discreet details, while plastic parts have been replaced by precisely finished metal controls. A custom roof rack holds skis, luggage or a wooden surfboard decorated with contrasting Monogram marquetry.
The second car offers a quieter interpretation. Developed with Louis Vuitton Women’s Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquière, the Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer – Classic Turbo is a 510-horsepower ivory cabriolet inspired by classic motorboats. Warm leather, gold accents and timber run through the design, extending to a teak-inspired rear deck and wood-lined luggage compartment.
Each car has its own collection of fitted bags and driving pieces, including jackets, shoes, gloves, helmets and watches. Keys and documents are housed in bespoke leather cases.
The collaboration began with Singer’s request for a dashboard clock. Created by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton and based on the Tambour watch, the removable mechanical timepiece established a design language that eventually spread throughout both vehicles.
Rather than adding luxury finishes to an existing car, Louis Vuitton and Singer have considered the full journey, uniting watchmaking, trunk-making, fashion and automotive engineering in two exceptionally detailed machines.
