The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) hit the town in full storm. For its 14th edition, Australian actress Cate Blanchett is chaired on the jury table, filmmaker Haifaa Al-Mansour was granted $100K , and for the second time in a row the festival hosted a Star Wars premiere. This year’s film festival featured more than 140 movies from different Middle Eastern and North African regions, like Iran, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt.
Film-maker Haifaa Al-Mansour Honoured by IWC
Saudi director, Haifaa Al-Mansour attends the festival for Mary Shelly movie screening. During her time at the festival she was granted an IWC Filmmakers Award, and a $100K prize for her upcoming project, an animation movie called Miss Camel.

Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor walked the red carpet in white ensemble by Ashi Studio, looking stunning as an ambassador to the premium IWC watch brand.
Patrick Stewart honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award
On December 6, actor Patrick Stewart receives a Lifetime Achievement Award given from HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Makhtoum and Abdulhamid Juma, Chairman of DIFF.

This year’s VIP Lounge at the 14th Dubai International Festival sponsored by Le Clos- a ballroom located in Mina A’Salam where a-listers made their way to explore different stands with unique local brands. Many indulged over sweet treats, enjoyed regionally produced fragrances and even visited the grooming corner for getting their nails done or beards shaved.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi concludes DIFF
The Last Jedi premiere screening closed the 14th DIFF edition on December 13, with a gala event like no other.
