In what promises to be the airport’s busiest January on record, Dubai International (DXB) is poised to host an impressive 4.3 million guests within the first half of January 2025. The daily peak is anticipated today, on the 3rd of January, when over 311,000 passengers are expected to pass through the airport.

With an average daily traffic of 287,000 passengers – marking an 8% increase from the same period in 2024 and a 6% rise above pre-pandemic levels in 2018-2019 – DXB continues to solidify its standing as the world’s leading international airport. The surge reflects the influx of international travellers departing post-festivities and the return of residents from their holidays.

Despite the unprecedented volumes, DXB remains committed to delivering a smooth and seamless experience for all its guests. The airport’s ability to handle such high traffic with ease highlights its operational resilience and global connectivity, making it a benchmark for excellence in international travel.

Dubai Airports, which operates both DXB and Dubai World Central (DWC), has played a pivotal role in the emirate’s aviation growth. Following a record 87 million guests in 2023, DXB is on track to host 92 million passengers in 2024, surpassing its pre-pandemic milestones.
