Discover the ancient Silk Road with this 18 day epic travel adventure on the majestic Golden Eagle train. Running from Moscow, through Persia to Tehran you’ll journey through Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan to areas previously inaccessible to most tourists. You’ll pass by ancient and modern wonders, such the oldest Koran at Tashkent, UNESCO protected ancient cities of Bukhara and Khiva, which acted as a trading post between Mongolia, China and Russia.
Once in Iran you’ll be taken in luxury to trace the legendary Persian empire with visits to the sacred city of Mashhad, home to the largest mosque in the world, the brick citadel of Rayen and Persia’s ancient capital Isfahan. Last but not least comes the ruins of Persepolis, these 6th century ruins are some of the most spectacular in Iran.
