Pomellato chose the St Regis Dubai Hotel, Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club to unveil its new jewellery line called Ritratto along with its latest advertising campaign, a gallery of powerful black and white portraits shot by Peter Lindbergh.
Pomellato’s CEO Sabina Belli hosted the dynamic event attended by a roster of key editors and local influencers.
Traditional yet contemporary, the Ritratto line homages the Portrait cut, an antique Indian technique characterised by stones of large dimensions, shaped with step-cuts.
Since its inception in 1967 it has always honoured the diverse spectrum of women while promoting self-consciousness and personality over any preconceived and oppressive notions of beauty. The brand embraced female emancipation and overturned clichés of traditional jewellery as a symbol of power and wealth to define new codes for women eager to buy themselves a jewel for pure indulgence.
It’s a philosophy that still stands strong and relevant today, and shines through in the new advertising campaign. The campaign elevates the feminine stance and takes the case of subject over object, captured by Lindbergh in all its raw-edged beauty. The master of sophisticated realism joins the likes of Helmut Newton, Michel Comte, Horst P. Horst and Gian Paolo Barbieri among others in Pomellato’s hall of fame of avant-garde photography. The new campaign was presented in clusters of over 70 floating frames that contained a mix of portraits, backstage snaps and stills of the jewels.
The Pomellato boutique is located in The Dubai Mall
