As rich and luxe as the velvet fabric feels, so are the bold colours that slayed most of the FW17 runway shows. Keep an eye on colourful velvet looks, their presence is known to take over again, one that’s more elevated than last season.

Since this silky-soft fabric is one of the most versatile trends out there, here are some easy-to-follow ways to incorporate velvet into your holiday collection this winter.  Dress up you favourite pair of denims with vivid coloured midi boots or mix them with a plush top; also a velvet jumpsuit is an easy go-to evening look, but for an elegant night out make sure you match yours with chic accessories and a red lip.

In the meantime as the holidays approach, stay away from basic black and opt in for some soft yellow dress as seen at Jason Wu, sleeveless power lavender pink Erdem gown or a statement making golden hued Tome dress. We have picked 10 most  coveted velvet pieces you must start adding to your wish list.
