DICE KAYEK’S ANDROGYNOUS TAILORING AT ITS BEST

Ece Ege is the brand’s Creative Director. Her name resonates with many of the industry’s finest critics even though this season marks Dice Kayek’s 1-year celebration as a guest member of the Paris Haute Couture calendar. For this collection, she made us reminiscent of Jean Paul Gautier’s love for androgynous yet theatrical female suit designs. The lady tuxedo was a staple in her collection, with bow ties, peplums and armorlike shoulders.

Ege’s designs had both Eastern and Western influences – think Dice Kayek’s Ottomann inspired voluminous shapes that evolved into dazzling cocktail dresses and sharply tailored smokings. There was also inspiration from the late-70s-early-80s with wide shoulders, boxy fits and sharp cuts.
