Stella McCartney will receive the humanitarian award from David Lynch Foundation at their annual Women of Vision luncheon on May 8.
Fashion designer is being honored for her contributions to the fashion industry and support of women in need with the proceeds from the lunch going toward funding a New York initiative to teach 1,000 female survivors of domestic violence to meditate.
The David Lynch Foundation launched Women of Vision last year with the aim to support women and children, while the foundation itself has been helping veterans, homeless and inner-city students among other vulnerable groups since 2005.
