Jason Wu has confirmed that he will be leaving Hugo Boss after five years as their artistic director.

Today’s FW18 presentation at Cedar Lake during New York Fashion Week will mark his last collection for the house. The designer said he was very proud of the years working for the label and in his conversation with WWD added:

“It’s public knowledge that about a year and a half ago there was a management change at Hugo Boss. I’ve stayed on to help the brand with the transition of its next stage. It’s going on to the next generation and iteration of Hugo Boss.”

Wu has also been running his own label for the last 10 years and this move will allow him to focus fully on growing it.

“I love doing a lot of things. One of my biggest idols is Karl Lagerfeld. I think to be able to do a lot if fortunate. I’m really happy to have done a lot. But I’m also happy now that I can concentrate 100 per cent on my brand… After 10 years in the business, I feel like I need to devote all my energy to my own label.”

We are yet to learn who will take over at Boss.
