Zayn Malik seems to be rising in fashion status, not just as a style icon but also as a new designer. In February he’ll reveal his designs for Versus Versace as the brand’s newest designer collaboration Zayn X Versus, which will be out in May. He will also star in two Versus Versace campaigns and we can’t wait to see those! Some of the profits from the collection, which will be both womenswear and men’s, will go to charity.
Donatella told Vogue: “Why I want Zayn now: He can make me talk to his followers. I want to listen to the language, I want to learn. I want to know what they think, what they like. This is a new generation, [which] if I do not go through someone like Zayn I will never reach.”
But it’s not just Donatella who’s been busy working with him. The 23 year old musician debuts his line of shoes with Giuseppe Zanotti. Their relationship stems back to Paris Fashion Week in 2015. Zanotti said to Vogue: “I like to work with musicians because we share a very similar vision…but it was during our first encounter in Paris that we realised we had a similar attitude and approach: iconic, edgy, and expressive. Zayn’s bold and individualistic vision, easy coolness, and love for fashion mean a lot to me.”

Zayn added: “I like things which are a bit dark and weird, and Mr. Zanotti isn’t afraid to play with those elements either. The process of designing my collection has been really fun as a result! I wanted to mix up the iconic rock ’n’ roll styles like boots, which are quite hard, with organic colours. I think the mix makes them feel quite classic.
“Fashion, like music, reaches everyone and has turned out to be another outlet for me. I’m so excited about learning from Mr. Zanotti and his team, plus Donatella Versace and her team,” he concluded.
