Victoria Beckham is set to be appointed OBE for her contributions to fashion and charity work, following her husband, David’s footsteps, who received his OBE thirteen years ago. Victoria has been named on the Queen’s New Years Honours List and is said to be “delighted and humbled for the recognition.”

Originally known for her outlandish and controversial style, many were skeptical of her transition from pop star to credible fashion designer. However, Victoria Beckham proved everyone wrong and has now become a major fashion icon in her own right, as well as fronting an extremely successful fashion label which she showcases twice a year at New York Fashion Week. Beckham’s fashion forward label has become a celebrity favourite with her signature tailored dresses and sleek leather accessories taking centre stage. With a business turnover of £34 million, offices in London and New York and now two stores in London and Hong Kong, Victoria Beckham really has created herself a credible and lucrative business.

The determined business woman also shows her philanthropic side as a UNAIDs ambassador. Her role enables her to travel around the world where she meets with children living with and suffering from HIV and Aids, “She is especially thrilled that her philanthropic work as a UNAIDS goodwill ambassador, creating a voice and awareness for women with HIV that suffer prejudice and discrimination has been recognised in this way.”
