THE TRACK IS BACK

Between the years of 2004 and 2007 almost every A-lister on the planet owned several Juicy Couture bright coloured velour two-pieces. Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and Paris Hilton were all at the forefront of the brand.

In 2016, it’s ripe for the rival. The iconic tracksuit has made it’s way back to the catwalk. It first made an appearance on the spring 2016 runway, lightly referenced at Paco Rabanne, where zippers adorned the cuffs of loose, athletic-looking trousers. At Chloé model Edie Campbell wore low-slung red track pants with a light racing stripe and matching zip-up jacket—popped collar included. But the most lavish was seen as an après-sport piece at Loewe, with swathes of supple suede.

The luxe athleticism trend’s stronger than ever. It was seen at Vetements spring/summer 2017 Paris Couture Week. Vetements have even collaborated with 18 different brands, including Juicy Couture. Add to that the new season Vetements drop-crotch and Chloé velour tracksuits just appeared in stores. We look forward to a full-blown style resurrection.
