Wednesday 11th May 2022 marks the 90th birthday of fashion icon Mr Valentino Garavani, and the Maison is launching a limited-edition sweatshirt in celebration of the occasion.

With a career spanning five decades, Valentino Garavani has defined a genre and personal idea of beauty, expressing the feminine form in infinite ways always ensuring that the House’s designs are relevant for the present day, while introducing an idea for the future, and at the same time, remaining timeless. The Maison celebrates the milestone of this unique personality with the launch of a limited-edition collection.
The Valentino ‘Happy Birthday Mr V’ limited edition hoodie will boast his renowned quote: “I Love Beauty, It’s Not My Fault”, a vivid and ironic summary of an approach to fashion and life.
In addition to this release, The Teatro Sociale, a theatre in Voghera, the hometown of Valentino Garavani, will present a site-specific installation on the 11th of May. This exhibition will be open to the public and will feature iconic creations designed by Valentino, from the 1960s to the entire first decade of the 21st century.
Featured at centre stage is a collection of 36 iconic dresses from the archives, and surrounding these pieces are drawings, newspaper clippings, photographs, and documents that illustrate the spirit and stories of Valentino Garavani, and the Maison through the years.
