Farida Khelfa and the French fashion house Schiaparelli have announced that the former model, who has been a brand ambassador for the past five years, will step down from her role with immediate effect.
Khelfa, who is a model, actress and film-maker, was brought on board as an ambassador for the brand in 2012 when the house relaunched its couture line and was a key advocate of the luxury label during this time. However, she has decided to relinquish this role now in order to focus on her new film.
Farida said in a statement released; ‘After a five-year mission, where I helped the relaunching of the brand, I decided to concentrate on personal artistic projects. I was honoured to be part of the rebirth of Schiaparelli’s couture line, a new life and chapter to one of the most influential French couture houses. I want to thank all the team at Schiaparelli for their trust and support.’
A spokesperson for Schiaparelli said of the departure; ‘Farida Khelfa was part of the team and remains a dear friend of the House, close to Mr Diego Della Valle and the team with whom she worked hand in hand during those years. All the Schiaparelli team wishes her the best for the future.’
