London Fashion Week’s beauty was very natural and stripped back, with very few dramatic looks. There were a few rare pops of colour, as seen at Mary Katrantzou, but they were soft pastel touches as opposed to bold statements. Skin was glowingly healthy, lips often left bare as well as the eyelashes, giving a very youthful and natural look.
Below we round up the beauty looks from some of the key shows:
Christopher Bailey actually showed Burberry’s SS17 collection as part of London Fashion Week as he adopted the ‘see now, buy now’ model, so a lighter, fresher approach was to be expected. The models’ face were glowing, with subtle blush, balmed lips and a smudge of skin toned eye shadow.
At Christopher Kane the look was also very minimal, although the lips had a bit more of a frosted shine. Hair was loose with strays strands allowed to go free.
At Erdem, brows were the main feature of the face and were made to pop by leaving eyes and eyelashes bare. Models had a strict centre part to their hair that gave added structure.
At J.W. Anderson the models’ skin was flawlessly matt. Silvery-white subtly lined the eyes and ponytails were worn effortlessly to the side.
At Mary Katrantzou, bleached brows gave an ethereal look to frame blue, pink, yellow and white sweeps of eyeshadow. Face warming blusher was swirled on the apples of the cheeks to prevent to look becoming too cold.
Simone Rocha showed that beauty has no age limit by having Jan de Villeneuve walk the runway. hair was kept off the face and a pinky nude eyeshadow covered eyelids. Pink blusher added a subtle flush to the models’ cheeks.
