Big braids have been on-trend for a while now, but the Valentino girls had subtle mini plaits through their long hair. This youthful little detail had a more elegant and subtle impact on the overall look. Faces were left super-natural or had heavily lined eyes and pops of deep red lipstick.

Maison Margiela used all the colours of the rainbow to make up their beauty look this season. The look had an abstract arts and crafts feel that was confident and full of creative expression. Hair was accessorised with feathers, headbands and multi-coloured thread.

Bold brows have been a key theme in recent seasons; at Loewe the girls had black brushed over the brown of their eyebrows regardless of the colour of their hair to create a striking look. Hair was strictly parted in the centre and sleekly combed into ponytails at the nape of the neck.

Heavily black-kohled eyes at Chloé gave a youthful and cool edge to the feminine collection. Smudging the look prevented it from becoming too graphic and harsh. Hair was shiny, healthy and natural.

At the Alexander McQueen show there was a twist on the traditional ponytail. Locks were textured and hair was loosely gathered at the back and front for a directional look. The make-up was very minimal, focussing instead on the model's healthy, hydrated and radiant skin.
