For fall 2018, Mira Mikati decided to trade last year’s skater tom-girl for a girl-power with a pimped out ride. The pop-fantastic collection is made for the modern woman who considers a fast paced life.
Mikati defines her women as “not sexy racer girls, they’re heavy-duty mechanics, parachute-jumping adrenaline junkies who are pretty, elegant girls in the evening.”
Picking up where she left off last season, silhouettes were oversized and heavily influenced with athleisure-wear. Colour-blocked overall- suits were matched with faux shearling jackets draped with embroideries, and some were scattered like confetti with messages of “unstoppable,” “burn fat, not fuel,” “no boys allowed”. There were some feminine silhouettes- including relaxed dresses and velvet pajama; and some

A year ago, almost all of the top fashion brands showcased their Cruise collections across the globe. But this time around, the majority has decided to show in one country- in France.
Last night, Dior revealed its Cruise 19 just outside of Paris at the iconic Domaine de Chantilly- one of the largest stables in Europe, which was built for Louis-Henri de Bourbon, the 7th Prince de Condé in the 1870s. The location carries a great importance to the brand and especially to Maria Grazia Chiuri who welcomed her opulent lineup in a one-of-a-kind architectural setting.
Yes you heard that right; it was a wild night at Diorodeo. Chiuri’s main inspiration was the escaramuzas- a term that literally means a woman who rides a horse in a dress and participates in Mexican rodeo shows called charreada.
The brand actually flew a whole crew of real Mexican cowgirls, who opened the show extravaganza riding in custom-made full embroidered skirts and wide-brimmed hats. This was an act of celebrating strong women, which has been strongly infused across the whole collection.
Minutes after, the Dior girls powered in edgy ruffles on tiered dresses and intricate voluminous skirts. Mainly a monochrome lineup, it also featured tailored tough coats and feminine silk dresses were roaring with wild prints of serpents and tigers. Naturally the Dior heritage always being the main focus, there were iconic tulle skirts balanced with combat boots, smart skinny ties that fell effortlessly on shirts and exquisitely fitted bar jackets, giving the perfect hourglass silhouette. Of course model’s hair was slicked into a ponytail, and the escaramuzas and their horses stayed in place throughout the entire show.
Despite the storm, it was a theatrical show all about female strength; a night we never thought we’d witness.

Bvlgari Rewrites The ‘RVLES OF DESIGN’ At Milan Design Week 2018
In case you missed his important message last week, Nicolas Ghesquière is clearly not going anywhere. Louis Vuitton’s Cruise’19, marks Ghesquière five year contract at the maison; and the brand’s fresh partnership with Grace Coddington on an exclusive a capsule collection.
Grace’s love for cats that she has always sketched, fabulously glided centre stage of the Foundation Maeght in Paris. “I hope it will be a dream come true for Pumpkin, Blanket and Nicolas’ dog – it certainly is for me,” Grace said. “It started with our love for animals; it’s where Nicolas and I really connect beyond fashion.”
A collection of modern brilliance, Ghesquière’s girls cruised the hilltops of Colline des Gardettes, surrounded by Isabelle Maeght ‘s five elements- vegetable, mineral, water, fire and human. It was a down to earth show, completely led with thigh-high leather space boots. Always introducing a trace of femininity, there were loose satin shorts- looking like something in between a boxer and boudoir; oversized paillettes pranced the runway, a perfect accent for the next wave of red carpet events. An experimentation of textures was clear; we saw soft white pleats sleeves and tough leather shoulder panels.
Outfits were paired with goggle-looking sunglasses, and each jacket and vest was intricately sculpted, falling in Ghesquière path of perfection. It was a fiery collection that shined with that Louis Vuitton energy we have known for so many years. Also, with a clever collaboration of the season, he was right, Nicolas Ghesquière is #notgoinganywhere.
Everything was truly genius, and those thigh-high sneaker boots are all we ever wanted! Discover some of our favourite LV Cruise 2019 looks in the gallery above.

Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim’s Resort 2019 collection for Oscar de la Renta main reference was the Wedgwood book by Rizzoli, turning everything in the lineup to be suitable for wedding related events- from the reception, bridesmaids’ dresses, and even the rehearsal dinner.
Another key inspiration came from when: “We got Meghan Markle’s phone call to help dress her mom for the royal wedding,” Garcia said after Tuesday’s show, referring to the pistachio coat and dress Doria Ragland wore to her daughter’s wedding last weekend.
The collection was full of soft dresses, and the most evident were the tweed suit jackets matched with casual shorts and gowns in tulle, guipure and organza. There were plenty of pastel-hued stretch wool dresses, minimal oversized suits, printed cotton dresses.
Welcoming a youthful and fresh collection, the duo designers once again honored the founder’s legacy with millennial updates.

Audemars Piguet announces their unveil details of its 4th Art Commission, HALO to be exhibited during Art Basel in Basel, Switzerland, from 13-17 June 2018. This time around, the Audemars Piguet Art Commission has been executed by British artist-duo Semiconductor, Ruth Jarman and Joe Gerhardt, in collaboration with guest curator Mónica Bello, Spanish curator and head of Arts at CERN, the European Laboratory for Particle Physics in Geneva.
Titled HALO, it is an artwork site will display an artistic interpretation of the ATLAS experiment at CERN. The large-scale vanue will also allow art fanatics to experience and fully understand the complex world of subatomic nature and the phenomena taking place at the CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Artists-in-residence at CERN spent two months in 2015, Semiconductor using raw data from the ATLAS experiment in their work.
The HALO project takes the form of a ten-metre-wide cylinder-shaped structure surrounded by vertical piano wires. The inside of the installation is encircled by a 360-degree screen where the audience can observe kaleidoscopic data projections produced by a series of slowed-down subatomic particle collisions that usually occur almost at the speed of light. As the subatomic particles hit the screen, the animated data triggers small hammers to hit the piano wires, releasing vibrations that resonates across the site, allowing the visitors to experience the artwork both acoustically and physically.
Olivier Audemars, Vice President of the Board of Directors proudly notes, “It amazes and excites me to see how Semiconductor explore how we see and experience the natural world. They help us to see things differently. And they bring to life the precision and complexity of particle physics and art. As a company, it is fundamental for Audemars Piguet to continue supporting innovative artists like Semiconductor, so we can better understand our own world and our own work.”
All thanks to the involvement of Audemars Piguet and CERN, this artwork installation would be the artist’s first time to receive permission to work directly with raw data generated by the ATLAS experiment.
“We are interested in the unknown and finding out about who we are as humans through what we don’t know. Science just happens to be the medium through which we do that. We hope visitors to HALO will be humbled by the immersive environment, transcending the scientific aims of the data.”- said the Semiconductor.
For the annual Art Commission, the artists were invited to Audemars Piguet’s home in Le Brassus, Switzerland, during the artwork’s development to spend time with the Manufacture’s watchmakers and begin to understand the concept behind the artwork. During their visit, Semiconductor notes:
“They’re both operating at the limits of what is physically and humanly possible; the watches on a minuscule scale, where aids are needed to see the parts required, and at CERN, at the other end of the spectrum, where the limitations become how to manoeuvre, install and run experiments at such a large scale.”
Mónica Bello, guest curator also says, “I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to realise HALO, and to be working with Semiconductor once again after their residency. This is the first time CERN is featured in an exhibition at Art Basel and I am grateful to Audemars Piguet for the invitation to work together. Ruth and Joe have created an immersive installation that conveys fundamental research with innovative ideas and artistic creativity in an extraordinary artwork. HALO is an opportunity for visitors to see how scientists and artists work together, inspiring each other and bringing to life unique visions of our world.”

Along with the summer days come the unfortunate seasonal frizz—but the good news is that there are many possible ways to win the battle against humidity.
A tip to saving the hair from fraying is to avoid extra friction, for example drying your hair with a towel will automatically raise the hair cuticle, causing frizz; instead use a blow-dryer that will help the cuticle to lie flat. To guarantee an anti-frizz result, you can also use intensive agents like nourishing oils or silicone-based creams- that can be massaged into the dry or wet hair extra moisture.
Consider that frizz conquered with our grooming edit of the best humidity proof hair products that you need to try right away.

Action adventure Ocean’s 8 asked Cartier to be the film’s exclusive jewellery partner. For the Maison, the decision to take on this project rises from its legacy of empowering women with its bold and fearless spirit.
Proceeding with this collaboration, Cartier says it was a thrilling venture but they are up for the challenge as the luxury jeweler were asked to create a very special order for the film’s ultimate heist scene at the Met Gala.
The one-of-a-kind crown jewel lands a significant part in film worn by actress Anne Hathaway. The motion picture’s necklace was based on an original 1931 design by Jacques Cartier made for the Maharaja of Nawanagar. The replica was specially made as a tribute to Jeanne Toussaint- the house’s creative director in the Thirties and the main decisive hand in establishing the brand’s stylistic DNA.
“Cartier is thrilled to continue its long-standing cinematic legacy. With this film, the New York Cartier Fifth Avenue mansion confirms its identity as a landmark of the city, and the Jeanne Toussaint necklace highlights Cartier’s craftsmanship in jewelry making on the silver screen,” said Arnaud Carrez, Cartier’s international marketing and communications director.
For this specific parure, Cartier dedicated the best of their resources found at its high jewellery workshops located at rue de la Paixin in Paris. It was mandatory for the expert jewelers to complete a dreamlike necklace in maximum eight weeks of time; and finally flew it straight from Paris to New York.
Coming this summer, “Ocean’s 8” will show in theaters on June 7.

Fragrances are designed to evoke emotions and memories, so choosing the perfect scent for your special day can be one of the most important beauty decisions you could make.
When it comes to British Royal wedding traditions, a scent of orange blossom has been used since Queen Victoria who loved the flower. Kate Middleton reportedly chose Jo Malone Orange Blossom on her big day in 2011, and now Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have an official wedding perfume being created by royal-warrant holder Floris London. It said to be inspired by the brand’s Bergamotto di Positano fragrance, which has notes of orange blossom, bergamot, mandarin and vanilla.
When picking the right scent for you consider how you want to feel and analyse your current tastes. The time of year can also influences your choice, but don’t be afraid to try something new. Our top tip is to create your own bespoke fragrance by layering a number of perfumes. To enhance the scent, apply body cream with the same key notes, spray the perfume on pulse points and just before stepping out of the door, create a veil of fragrance to walk through.
In the gallery above, we have selected out favourite fragrances that would be ideal for a spring wedding many of which contain the Royally approved orange blossom.
