Carolina Herrera Takes FW24 To New Heights With A Skyscraper Collection

Carolina Herrera’s FW24 show took place on the 41st floor of a skyscraper in New York’s financial district, with cascading floor-to-ceiling views of New York’s skyline acting as the backdrop to the new collection.

Power and beauty were two of the key influences for the house’s Creative Director Wes Gordon, for the new collection.

Prior to the show, Feud: Capote vs. the Swans – a film about the trial of the actress Ann Woodward, who was accused of killing her husband – played to the audience.

The result of Gordon’s inspiration was a collection which revelled in unconventional combinations, boxy bright colours and of course – iconic gowns infused with the house codes.

“This season, more than ever, I wanted it to be about beauty as power, power as beauty,” Gordon told Reuters. “I wanted her to dress powerfully, and I wanted every look to be an embodiment of power.”
