Loewe's Postal Bag Tote Bags Are Perfect for City Breaks this Summer

The time is nigh for escaping the desert heat in exchange for city breaks across the globe. But this time around, the new collection of Postal Bag totes by Loewe are set to be our summer companion.

There are many cities that need to be checked off one’s bucket list – from London to New York, Hong Kong and Shanghai – that it’s hard to know where to begin. But thanks to the latest bag collection from Loewe, we’ve at least got a shortlist to start with as the latest designs from the Spanish brand has taken inspiration from some of the biggest cities in the world.

In what is one of the first rigid bags designed by Loewe under Creative Director Jonathan Anderson, this tough exterior draped with supple leather will become what makes the new Postal bag design distinctive among other iconic shapes from the fashion house, such as the Puzzle, Hammock and Gate bags.

While the new Postal Bag will be available in a range of solid-coloured options and one-of-a-kind versions animated by playful designs, it’s the skyline inspired designs that will be released over the summer that has caught our attention.

The limited edition designs feature illustrations capturing some of the most famous cities in the world, such as Madrid, Barcelona, London, Paris, New York, Shanghai, Tokyo and Hong Kong. Available in two sizes, each design has been subjected to the intricate technique of leather marquetry in order to evoke the aesthetics of an old fashioned postcard. In that same spirit, all Postal bags are ‘stamped’ with an engraved Anagram, too.

While the first drop of the collection will be in China from July 15th, the entire collection – bar the Barcelona Postal bag will be available exclusively in the Paseo de Gracia store – will be available worldwide on August 8th.
