A&E Recommends… Dining at OPSO in The Dubai Mall and Soaking Up the City Views

OPSO in The Dubai Mall brings together modern Greek cuisine with warm hospitality, and the location seals the deal for a special evening out.

We’re not sure whether it’s just our imagination or whether based on fact, but it feels like more and more Greek eateries are opening up in Dubai at the moment. Of course, for those who are fans of the cuisine, this is great news, but in turn, it makes it harder to come to a decision when picking a location for your next evening out.

Fret not, as we have the answer for you. OPSO Dubai, which serves as the first international opening for the eatery made famous in London’s Marylebone, serves up an entire host of Greek dishes from the familiar to the more far fetched that are flavour packed without the price list raising any eyebrows.

Heading over to the restaurant located in The Dubai Mall, we discover that what OPSO does so well is perfect the simple dish, taking the ordinary to extraordinary.

We work our way through the Crispy Hummus topped with ground za’atar, Dakos Salad made up of olive oil rusks, cherry tomatoes, barrel-matured feta, capers red onions and Kalamata olives, sourdough bread with olives and wild chips seasons with oregano to begin.

Mains soon follow – yellow fava spread with red onion and crips capers and the OPSO Mousakas which includes grilled eggplant, slowly braised beef, ragout, béchamel and potato crips – and we dip into different dishes exploring the flavours.

But what is the icing on the cake is the location; hit up the restaurant (the name of which is an ancient Greek word for a delectable morsel of food – a delicacy) when the weather permits and take a seat on the curved terrace to be mesmerised by the twinkling lights of the city skyline and wowed by the fountain shows from occur from 6pm onwards.
