No beauty bag is complete without a multi-purpose balm to see its owner through all weathers and skincare woes. And these are the ones that have stood the test of time as the others have come and gone.
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream
Anyone who knows the first thing about beauty will be familiar with this wonder balm. The thick balms contain ingredients such as lanolin, mineral oil, salicylic acid and castor oil, and can be used to hydrate, protect and heal head-to-toe. The scent isn’t for everyone, but its skin-soothing powers certainly are. First made in 1930 by the woman herself, let its 90-year history assure you.
Lucas Papaw Ointment
You’ll be hard-pressed to find an Australian skincare buff that hasn’t tried the elixir hidden within this famous bright red tube. The sticky substance is kept on hand to ease dry lips, cuts, nappy rash, bites and chapped cuticles, and is made from fermented paw paw (or papaya) fruit as well as petroleum jelly and a small amount of gum balsam of Peru for scent. Founded in the earlier 1900s, it’s likewise a skin saviour for the ages.
Egyptian Magic
Okay, so it hasn’t been around quite as long as the others – it’s been available to buy since 1991 – but its near-thirty years have earned it a rock-solid spot on so many beauty shelves. Use it as a body moisturiser, face mask, flyaway tamer, scar treatment or just about anything else you can think of. Olive oil, honey, royal jelly, propolis, beeswax and bee pollen make up the base, and the ingredients are completely natural. In our opinion, the magical name is no exaggeration.

See the apps that can help you improve your digital wellness, from restricting social media use to greyscaling your mobile screen.
As we become more and more attached our gadgets (iPhone, we’re looking at you) the need to invest in our digital wellness only rises alongside it.
But realistically, most of us aren’t going to ditch our mobiles for a week or so in order to reign in our addiction to screens and social media scrolling.
Nowadays, we need to work within the system to change it – meaning downloading a host of apps that can help us put the rein on our constant pull towards technology.
And these are some of the apps promoting digital wellness you need to know about.
Daywise
Instead of being inundated with notifications from the group chat and email about the status of your Amazon delivery every few minutes of the day, Daywise collates all notifications into one handy pop-up every few hours, so you can designate a time to work through them all instead of constantly being bombarded.
Headspace
If you’re going to be using your phone, let it be to help clear some space in your mind rather than clogging it up with endless images and information. Try mindfulness app Headspace, which encourages users to take ten minutes from their day to meditate and relax.
Stay Focused
We don’t need to tell you a buzzing notification or breaking news alert can easily distract you from the task at hand. Download Stay Focused to help you, well, stay focused. You can set limits on the time you can spend on certain apps and even block them out during certain periods when distractions are not an option.
Colour Breeze
We hear time and time again that the blue led lights from our phones are interfering with our sleep patterns, but we can’t resist an Instagram scroll before bed to ensure we’ve liked all the available life updates of the day. Try using Colour Breeze which adds a greyscale effect and dulls out all the bright colours on our screen that usually pull us back in.
Flipd
If the only way you won’t logon to twitter to see what’s trending is by not being able to, then give Flipd a try to help you to create some mental space. Set a time that will block your social media apps, but rest assured as phone calls and text are still enabled, meaning you won’t miss any emergencies.

Ready for the new season, Burberry has unveiled it’s star-studded Autumn/Winter 2019 campaign shot by the likes of Nick Knight and Danko Steiner.
The runway for Burberry’s AW19 was a thing to marvel. Riccardo Tisci – Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer who took over the iconic London brand in March 2018 – named his collection Tempest, and the name was reflecting of the contrasts in English culture and (of course) weather.
Models took the runway donning bold block colours, corset-style tops, tracksuit bottoms, polo shirts and more iconically British styles mismatched together.
And now finally, fans of the 1856-established label can catch a glimpse at the campaign shots of the collection.
While photographers Danko Steiner and Nick Knight were brought in shoot the looks, the likes of Burberry favourites Gigi Hadid, Irina Shayk, Fran Summers, Sora Choi, He Cong and Alexis Chaparro returned to pose in the new line.
Meanwhile, newcomers Freja Beha Erichsen, Finn Rosseel, Shayna McNeill, Anna Ross, Kacie Hall, Heejung Park, Mammina Aker, Xie Yunpeng, Junior Vasquez, Benji Arvay and Maxwell Annoh joined them, too.
As the clothing collection brings together the sophisticated and urban styles of England, and these contrasts are reflected in the calm sea that could turn tides at any moment.
The full collection is available to purchase in-store and on Burberry.com globally from today.

The Latest Step in Burberry’s Sustainability Plan
Mimicking the latest runway beauty looks isn’t as difficult as it might seem, and from the products to use to the techniques to employ, here’s how to ace Givenchy’s AW19 backstage makeup look.
For her Autumn/Winter 2019 Ready-To-Wear clothing collection, Givenchy‘s Artistic Director Clare Waight Keller tapped into trends such as exaggerated shoulders, unconventional animal print, delicate florals and more. The colourful collection was titled Winter of Eden.
Complimenting the collection was the beauty look, which was softer and more subtle, but still had an earthy feel.
The complexion was natural and fresh, lips were kept bare while eyes were accentuated with smudged, lived-in liner, leaving a subtly glamorous finish.
Here’s how to get the look:
“Over moisturised skin, apply a few drops of Matissime Velvet Fluid to the centre of the face and blend out towards the perimeter of the face using your fingertips. Layer on areas that need additional coverage. For under-eye circles, small blemishes and areas that need brightening, customize your coverage with Teint Couture Everwear Concealer for illumination in a single step.
“Press, roll and blend with fingertips or a small fluffy brush until the product melts into the skin and imperfections fade and brighten. Further, enhance and highlight by sweeping a touch of Prisme Visage Silky Face Powder Quartet below the eyes, across the cheekbones and high points of the face. With a large powder brush, sweep Poudre Première Mat & Translucent-Finish Loose Powder across the t-zone to minimize shine.”
“Blend a light wash of Prisme Quatuor No.9 Delicate through the crease using a fluffy blending brush. Blend it along the lower lash line using a small blending brush. Define the lash line using Magic Khol Eyeliner Pencil No.1 Black. Apply the Magic Khol Eyeliner Pencil No.1 Black along the lower lash line. Use a small detail brush to lightly smudge the pencil along the upper & lower lash line, extending outwards into a cat-eye shape.
“Brighten the eyes using Magic Khol Eye Liner Pencil No.2 White through the waterline. Highlight the inner corners using Ombre Couture No.1 Top Coat Blanc Satin. Curl the lashes and finish with Noir Couture Volume Mascara No.1 Black Taffetas to the top and bottom lashes.
Groom the brows by brushing in upward and outward strokes, trimming any overgrown hairs. Use the Givenchy Eyebrow Pencil to fill in gaps and sparse areas of the brow in a feathery motion to mimic the look of real hair. Brush Mister Brow Groom Transparent Setting Gel No.00 Transparent through the brows to keep the hairs in place.
LIPS & CHEEKS
“For a dewy, glowing effect, apply Mister Healthy Glow Gel over tops of the cheekbones, bridge of the nose and the cupids bow. Keep the lips bare and hydrated with Le Rose Perfecto Beautifying Lip Balm No.000 White Shield.”

For its latest launch, Akillis has created an exuberant collection drawing on precious gemstones.
Since its launch in 2008, the high jewellery brand has set our to create reinvent instinctive French jewellery. Speaking recently, Akillis Founder and Creative Director Caroline Gaspard told A&E that each item she designs is in some way a reflection of an aspect of her identity.
And for the collection, Gasper’s anticonformist side was channelled, and referencing the six times in which she has renewed her wedding vows in different locations are the six rows of gemstones from Paraïba that are an ode to travel and love.
The Guarani collection – which is composed of a necklace, bracelet and earrings – serves as an invitation to discover an unusual stone, the Paraïba tourmaline. The mesmerising vivid blue-green hue makes it a striking rare gem.
These are laid in with diamonds, and the design serves to be ultra-feminine and glamorous but also comfortable for the wearer. The careful design of each piece lessens the weight of the material.
Hence, the 180 carefully selected gemstones from Paraïba are placed in a perfectly aesthetic geometric alignment.
Shop the collection at Bloomingdales at The Dubai Mall.

When it comes to topping lists, locations within the UAE have been repeatedly making an appearance in the recently, and now another location has earned itself a prestigious position.
For people living in the United Arab Emirates, they might recognise Sharjah as a cultural hub with plenty to explore.
But now the emirate’s beauty has been recognised on a global scale. In a recent article from the BBC, the media outlet named Sharjah as one of the most creative cities in the world.
Compiled by Libby Banks, the author explores what defines a cultural hub or artistic epicentre in modern times – with super cities such as London, Paris and New York omitted from the list.
She writes: “The international art map is changing, and a new generation of cultural hubs is emerging, well away from global financial centres, property developers and blue-chip art dealers.”
When it comes to Sharjah, the city was chosen for its penchant for art and poetry. She cites programmes such as the Sharjah Art Foundation and events like the Islamic Arts Festival.
Banks adds: “Sharjah is doing things a little differently. Sustainability and conscious design are the city’s trump cards, and Sharjah aims to eliminate landfill by 2020.”
But which other locations made the list? Mexico City, Belgrade, Dakar and Bangkok all featured too.

Les Reveries’s first bridal collection is now available in the region on Net-A-Porter, and the selection is truly dreamy.
Originally created in New York, fashion brand Les Reveries made its way to the UAE thanks to its home on e-commerce powerhouse Net-A-Porter.
And now for the first time, Les Reveries has created a capsule bridal collection which will be available exclusively on the site.
Created by sisters Wayne and Ai, the range includes a selection of wedding-inspires attire including special dresses, knits and sweaters to be worn for those beautiful moments.
And the capsule bridal collection that is available exclusively on the site is romantic and dreamy, with a relaxed, boho vibe.
The wedding dresses are soft and romantic yet elegant and ooze a certain whimsical feel.
For brides that want to steer away for anything overdone, the designs take all the usual components of bridal glamour – pearl white hues, soft silk fabrics and feminine lace – and translate them into wearable yet mesmerising pieces. Think silk halterneck dresses and lace designs cut above the knee.
Signed as apart of the site’s The Vanguard programme, a global mentorship program aiming to turn ‘start-ups into superstars’, Net-A-Porter’s Global Buying Director Elizabeth von der Goltz said: “Following the incredibly successful launch of Les Reveries in our first season of The Vanguard, we approached the brand to translate their effortless silhouettes into an all-white capsule offering exclusive looks for our modern bride.”
She added: “The capsule includes options for the entire wedding party from the ‘cool girl bride’ to the bridesmaid to the wedding guest.”
And added: “The flutter sleeves and lace that are prominent within this capsule speaks to our bohemian bride whilst also providing a great option for effortlessly cool white summer occasion dressing.”
The label at large follows the same themes, being inspired by the siblings’ love of art, poetry and music.

Jennifer Lopez has long been a fan of the Lebanese designer before his name was a red-carpet regular. But just how did the global singer and movie star discover Zuhair Murad?
Having first donned the designed to the Met Ball in 2010 – a sweetheart cut silvery-grey ball gown adorned with sequins – Jennifer Lopez has since been spotted wearing the likes of Zuhair Murad countless times.
Some of the most memorable include wearing the designer to perform at the Grammys in 2017, to her album launch party in 2012, while speaking on stage at the Annual Hollywood Film Awards in 2014 and many. many more red carpet events.
But how did the 50-year-old global superstar discover the Middle Eastern designer nearly a decade ago?
Well, speaking recently during an interview with the event organizer for her world tour, Venture Lifestyle, she revealed: “I love Zuhair, he’s probably my favourite.”
She continued: “I discovered him years ago when I was doing a show somewhere. I was doing a show and I was so jetlagged and I was up in the middle of the night watching Fashion TV, which they had in this country I was in, and he had this beautiful show and I was like, ‘Who is this guy?’”
“I came back and I said, ‘Do you guys know Zuhair Murad?’ and nobody knew who he was, none of the stylists, nobody in the United States knew who he was. I was like, ‘You have to get me this dress for the Met Ball.”
“I wore his dress to the Met Ball and after that, I just started using him for everything — he designed my last tour — we just have a great relationship. He’s a beautiful man, a beautiful designer.”
Speaking to A&E previously about his work, he explained who the Zuhair Murad woman is and the aesthetic he aims for.
He said: “It’s about sensuality, femininity, and a touch of glamour. The cuts of the pieces are made with the intention to highlight the natural shape of the woman wearing them. The adornment including inserts of lace, embroidery, sheer panels, print and cut-outs are carefully crafted to achieve a strong silhouette.”

Escape toxic city life for a transformative journey that takes into consideration every aspect of health and wellness.
Sometimes, a break means heading off to the beach and lounging about with nothing but a guilty-pleasure book. But other times, we need to invest more into our mind, body and spirit to give ourselves a true break for everyday stresses and strives.
Which is why we recently checked into The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery by Sofitel. The unique hotel offers its guests a wellness programme individually designed to help relax, nourish and inform them over their stay, making it the ideal spot to check out from day-to-day life in order to focus on some TLC without having to jet set.
Before we even stepped foot within the hotel located on The Palm in Dubai, we were encouraged to fill out a lengthy form answering all kinds of questions relating to our emotional state, regular aches and pains and what our average food diary looks like. Because in order to set itself apart from other hotels offering a spa weekend, very specialised treatments targeting all aspects of wellness are at the core of the establishment.
And this set up only continues the moment we walk through the door. Chatting away to the Wellness Manager Vyara Tosheva, she pulls us over to the stand displaying the chakra balancing sprays created by Aveda. After choosing the colour we’re most drawn too and spritzing it over our pulse points, she tells us that this oil blend will be used throughout our treatments today, as what we’re drawn too is what we’re craving in our lives – be it the need to feel grounded or the desire to express ourselves.
After this taster of what’s in store during our stay, here’s how the rest of the experience measured up.
Naturally, the spa treatments are at the core of the wellness programme. Soon after settling in, we head to the Rayya Spa for a consultation with Wellness Coach Aswani Ayurvedic. After talking with the warm yet professional staff member about our general health and daily routine, she prescribes the Holistic Acupressure Therapy treatment. Acupressure massages are designed to relieve stress and help target areas of pain, and after our treatment, our body and mind feels lighter and softer.
Within the spa, each therapist utilises ancient wellness techniques along with only organic, toxin-free products that are complemented by the latest spa technology. Other treatments that caught our eye included the Earthfinity Massage that uses crystals and organic elements and is performed on our quartz crystal bed and the Vitamin C and Papaya Enzyme Peel Facial.
Next, we popped in for a quick DNA test (see nutrition) before heading to make the most of the spa facilities. A petite but luxe spa area holds a hot tub, steam room and sauna.
After unwinding and enjoying water in all its healing forms, we recline in another treatment room ready for the Oxygen Infused Relaxation which is as simple as it sounds.
Breathing in pure oxygen works to reinvigorate the body, as the increase in oxygen being carried through the bloodstream helps to stimulate cells and improved energy levels and sleep quality. We’re unsure whether the immediate effect is just placebo but we do feel more energised after.
With so many unique treatments and such a thorough approach to physical wellness, we would recommend the spa for anyone in need of calm and clarity – not just those booked onto the retreat.
After filling up at dinner, we head back to our sea-facing suite and take part in the sleeping ritual – a bath with salt of the earth essences and essential minerals that have been left out for us with the intent to distress and calm the body with special aromas to re-store the mind. We sleep well.
Next, we move on to looking after our mental health as well as our physical health to round off our spa day. We’re booked in for a one-on-one meditation session with Holistic Energy Healer, Nissa Rahim, who selected the Twin Heart Meditation for our session. It’s an ancient Tibetan practice by Master Chao Kok Sui, founder of pranic healing. Just the two of us, we sit opposite one another in a circle, crystals consuming its centre.
Usually finding it hard to ‘check out’ of day to day life, it takes a while for us to get lost in the meditation (unanswered emails suddenly springing to mind) but by the time it’s up we’re entranced and spiritually at ease, yet sorrowful that the session is over. An emotional weight is lifted and we feel as if we’re floating by the time we leave.
Elsewhere, The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery by Sofitel caters to both mental and physical health in many ways. A busy fitness programme includes yoga and circuit sessions, and these are once again tailored to the needs of individual guests.
What the dwelling on The Palm does so well is really focus on wellness from the inside out, including taking nutrition just as seriously as unwinding with a massage. If not more so, as this is something we can take away with us.
Our first encounter is during our above chat with Wellness Coach Aswani Ayurvedic, who analysed our diet from the initial questionnaire, offering advice to help us find more balance.
We also underwent the DNA test while within the Rayya spa. Whether your concern is vitamins you are deficient in or struggles with weight loss, different tests (the results are shared with a week or so after your stay) can help determine a biological reason to help you tackle it in a different way.
But as well as the science-y swab-in-mouth approach, the insight into our nutritional needs came in a much more personal package, too.
After a healthy but hearty breakfast on day two, we head to a meeting room facing the waves with Wellness Culinary Manager and Health Coach Alejandra Murillo Jimenez for a Holistic Integrative Nutri Session. She takes us by surprise by asking just as many questions about our personal life as the content of my plate.
During our lengthy – at moments, emotional – conversation we talk about diet and wellness, how our lifestyles can play into it, and how the gut is intrinsically linked to the mind. Together, we work out a do-able programme to eat and work out in a way that’s healthy for the mind and body. We’re nothing short of inspired to do better before we get hands-on.
Onto a Juice Detox Cleanse Workshop, in which we’re schooled on the benefits of cold-pressed juices. We discover that they retain much more of the nutrients of the raw fruits as it liquifies dues to a lack of heat (which break down certain enzymes) during the juicing process.
Working with the raw ingredients, we make a few of our own different recipes and combinations, adding ingredients such as activated charcoal (known to detox the body by preventing toxins from being absorbed) to up the antioxidant power of our liquid medicine. By the time the session is up, we’ve jotted down the brand of the juicer and are envisioning our new cold-pressed-juice-every-morning life.
And then for lunch, our third meal in The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery by Sofitel. We’re back in Vibe Restuarant for a wide lunch buffet (á la carte options are available for breakfast, lunch and dinner too) filled with health-conscious options – vegan and gluten-free options not only included by generous. Fresh salads, soups, stews and more, as well as fresh juices and coffees, served with alternative milk options.
As satisfying as the savoury option is, we can’t resist naming the vegan beetroot spongecake dessert as our favourite part, a welcome sweet treat option for the vegan palate. Guests can keep an eye out for the healthy cooking sessions held by the eatery’s chef during their stay, too.
After all that healthiness, we take time to relax the mind even further by heading to the sandy seafront, and after a walk barefoot down the stone-adorned reflexology path, we take a seat on one of the many sun loungers, flitting between watching the waves and unwinding with a book.
Short but sweet, even two days spent at The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery by Sofitel has us rethinking our eating habits, morning routine, approach to wellness and of course, has left us in a bubble of zen.

As Margot Robbie attended the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood premiere – with co-stars Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio by her side – this July, her stunning red carpet look stole the show.
Margot Robbie is certainly the woman of the moment. As well as recently becoming the face of Chanel’s Gabrielle Chanel Essence fragrance, the Australian actress is currently in the midst of promoting Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood movie, within which she plays actress Sharon Tate.
And taking to the screening event in LA, 29-year-old Robbie channelled classic movie star style.
Showing her allegiance with the French fashion house, she donned a flowing white Chanel Couture dress with a plunging neckline with a clinched in waist featuring a draping bow. The floor-length number also featured long, billowing bishop cut sleeves.
Stunning as the gown was, it was still Robbbie’s striking beauty look that reigned on the red carpet.

As the face of the fashion house, Margot Robbie wore a white couture Chanel dress to the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood premiere in LA
For the look, the Suicide Squad star’s makeup artist Pati Dubroff opted for burnt orange hues once again from Chanel.
She wrote on her Instagram page “Hot Summer 70’s vibe” and listed that for the skin she applied Soleil Tan De Chanel and Duo Bronze Et Lumiere Clair, OMBRE Premiere Gloss Solaire on the actress’s eyelids and finally Rouge Coco Flash 66 Pulse to add a flash of colour to her lips.
Her hair was created by Bryce Scarlett, and saw her lived-in blonde locks brushed back up top to eradicate the parting in favour of a neat bouffant-style crown, with rest of her hair flowing down in Hollywood curls.
Is it time to give orange makeup a try? We think so.

In need of a short but sufficient break from urban life, we head out to the sandy landscape of Abu Dhabi’s Jumeirah Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa for a UAE staycation.
As we drive up towards the stunning Jumeirah Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa within the sandy depths of the Abu Dhabi desert, only the yellow-tinted grains surrounding the hotel, we already feel a world away from the noise and chaos of the city.
And by the time we’ve been greeted by the warm and friendly staff upon arrival, checked in at reception and been escorted through the tranquil resort to our abode for the weekend, crowded shopping malls and beeping cars are definitely a distance memory, at least for the few days ahead. From lazing poolside to tucking in alfresco, here’s how we spend the weekend in the stunning location.
Within moments of arriving and wandering, we’re already won over on an ocular level. The aesthetics of the resort are inspired by classic desert dwellings in the Middle East, and the boutique resort’s 103 guest rooms and villas feature timeless local details and traditional artwork.
The creamy stone villas are complemented by the golden sand surroundings, with large brown clay pots giving colour in an equally mellow tone as you walk through.
To bring a touch of life to the neutral decor of the resort at large, the rooms offer a splash of colour and traditional decoration. Adding personality to the private space are Arabian rugs lining the floors, pale wood furniture and lamps in the style of traditional lanterns.
Settling in, we head out to enjoy our balcony view of the dry landscape and enjoy the sound of silence before exploring further.
After dropping our bags, we naturally head straight to the luxurious pool. The designated space is generous, with a large main pool overlooking the desert (with a hot tub area attached) and sun loungers either lined in a row for groups or coupled away in more private pockets for couples.
Lined with palm trees, the pool stretches out towards the desert and non-abrasive music creates a gentle ambience, keeping within the tone of the resort at large. Relaxed, we dip our lower halves into the water as we enjoy a refreshing beverage at the pool bar as the heat increases.
Heating up and ready to truly relax, we head to the Talise Spa which boasts ten treatment rooms and separate spa areas for male and female guests. Each includes a crystal salt sauna, steam rooms, plunge pools, snow caves, traditional Turkish hammam, a unique cryo experience and an invigorating ice bucket shower.
We try the Hamman Facial and the Deep Tissue Massage. The first is a treatment adapted the individual skin needs and starts with a double cleansing ritual using activated charcoal and bergamot, which can both help to draw out and treat impurities.
Next, our skin is exfoliated with a delicate rose and date mix followed by being swept with a solution to help clear pores alongside an aromatic steam treatment. A bespoke mask is applied after an argan-oil massage, while a prickly pear cactus elixir – known for its antioxidant properties – seals the treatment. We wake up from our haze to find our skin soft, clear and glowing.
As for the latter, the massage focuses on achy areas and worked into the muscles to relieve tension and ease stress. Once we leave the treatment room, we feel truly relaxed as our shoulders feel lighter and body movements flow since the tension has lifted.
During our stay at Jumeirah Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa, we dine at three of the food establishments – breakfast at Bait Al Hanine, lunch at Panache and dinner at Terra Secca, each one a delight.
The buffet breakfast has everything you would expect and then some – freshly cooked eggs whichever way you take them, traditional Arabic foul, cold cut meats and cheese, rows of inticing cereal and granola options, fresh fruit and an array of flavoured honey along with a selection of muffins and sweetbreads. All with fresh juice, tea and coffee, of course.
Lunch at Panache is served to us poolside, and we peck at nachos with guacamole, vegan rice rolls, salad and calamari. The portions are generous and the food fresh, exceeding our expectations for our midday snack.
Dinner at the Italian eatery is the main culinary event of our stay, however. Braving the humid outdoors, we dine overlooking the sandy desert come evening and nibble on freshly baked bread, refreshing salads and comforting pasta dishes. Of course, a refreshing sorbet cools us off by the end of the evening. The staff are warm and welcoming and accommodating to our particular requests.
These are just some of the dining option available.
While we don’t get the chance to explore them, the resort holds many desert activities such as horse riding, daily falcon shows, a dune biking adventure, a nocturnal animal hike and more.
And with our overall experience being once of complete calm, comfort and indulgence, we’ll be sure to try them out the next time we visit Abu Dhabi’s Jumeirah Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa.

It’s been days since Christina Mourad and Elie Saab Jr celebrated their love in a grand ceremony in Beruit, yet admiration for the bridal gown of the bride is by no means slowing down.
Designed by her now father-in-law Elie Saab, the wedding dress took over 450 hours to make and was indeed a labour of love.
Luckily for those lusting over the bridal gown – or maybe even taking inspiration from it – more pictures from the special day have been revealed, meaning we can now glimpse as the couture piece from all angles.
From the fitting and the ceremony to the after-party, pictures capture the gown in its entirety, from the bodice detail to the extravagant train.
As the new pictures reveal, the dress turned out to be one of three worn by the bride across the celebrations.
The newly-wed also donned a champagne-hued dress to the after-party and wore a sky blue number during a pre-wedding dinner.

In a new capsule collection from Bvlgari, the classic Serpenti watch has been reinvented with the help of the mesmerising purple amethyst stone.
With the Serpenti watch first being revealed over half a century ago, the alluring design has been an essential part of Bvlgari‘s history.
And for its latest update on the timeless timepiece, the Italian jeweller has called upon its signature of using daringly colourful gemstones in the form of the vivid purple amethyst.
Reimaging three of its best-known Serpenti jewellery watches, the new Amethyst editions capture the endless renewal associated with the snake, as well as the unbridled creativity that inspires Bvlgari designs.

The newest take on the Bvlgari Serpenti watch uses amethyst gemstones known to calm the mind and body
The jewellery maker first started created snake-inspired designs in the late 1940s, taking inspiration for Ancient Egyptian Queen, Cleopatra, who is said to have arrived in Rome wearing a serpent design around her wrist.
In fact, Elizabeth Taylor wore one of the pieces when she played the legendary figure in the 1963 film Cleopatra.

The snake-like designs which are now iconic for Bvlgari were initially inspired by Ancient Egyptian Queen Cleopatra
Bvlgari followed up in the 1960s by transforming the snake-like design into a timepiece that was an instant hit. The Serpenti has been updated and reinvented over the decades many times.
Yet in 2014, it was a rare Bvlgari Serpenti watch from 1965 that set a new world record for the auction house Christie’s after selling at $1,107,038 – over Dhs4 million by today’s exchange
Serpenti Amethyst capsule collection is only available at Bvlgari The Dubai Mall boutique.

When it comes to collaborations, we can’t think of a better match than Kate Moss and Alexander McQueen – two British fashion staples that have rebelled and reshaped the mold over the decades without ever falling out of vogue.
Which is why we couldn’t wait to get a glimpse of Moss modelling McQueen’s AW19 collection.
The 45-year-old supermodel donned a power suit with punk boots, a ruched, red-rose dresses full of volume, and an ultra-glamorous dress dripping with embellishment.
The campaign images were photographed by Jamie Hawkesworth in Northen England, the home to fashion house’s current Creative Director, Sarah Burton. The place was the inspiration behind the collection that was first unveiled in Paris this March.
And one of the garments that most explicitly referenced this – the silk taffeta dress of a rose in full bloom that represented the Red Rose of Lancaster – reflected the aesthetics of the collection at large.
On her inspiration, Burton said: “I went home for this collection, back to where I grew up in the North of England, surrounded by mill towns and wild countryside.
“I took my team to those mills, to a landscape that I remember from my childhood. The heart of the collection is inspired by the bolts of cloth we saw woven both by man and machine.”

For Stella McCartney’s Spring 2020 runway show, she employed the beauty talent of Charlotte Tilbury to create her natural beauty look, and here’s how to recreate the look.
Two of the most famous names in British fashion and beauty, Charlotte Tilbury and Stella McCartney united recently when creating the look from the latter’s most recent runway show.
For the Milan Fashion Week event, McCartney’s male and female collection celebrated The Beatles and worked on a literary collaboration with Jonathan Safran Foer, creating a colourful and creative collection which of course ranked high on the sustainability chart.
On how she used beauty to complement the clothing collection, Tilbury said: “I worked closely with Stella to create a fresh makeup look that encapsulated the vision of ‘typically British’, naturally enhanced beauty. This look was designed to complement the natural, sustainable vision of her Spring collection, Force for Nature. My gorgeous niece Sofia Tilbury brought it to life in Milan.”
Not only is a glowing base at the heart of this look, but it’s at the heart of Tilbury’s beauty aesthetic at large. She said: “Magic skin was the focus of this look. We kept the face natural, dewy and fresh using my hero complexion products: Magic Cream for the dew of youth, Magic Away Concealer for the look of a perfect skin day in seconds.
“A glossy, balmy, hydrated effect on the eyes using my new Hot Lips Clear Lipstick Conditioner, and a blush of fresh, creamy, peach was swept onto the cheeks for a ‘just run through a meadow’ effect. Full, natural, brushed-up brows and Full Fat Lashes mascara finished the look. For the men, a little Magic Away Concealer was applied if needed, but the look was ‘cool, grungy London’.”
Here’s how to recreate the look, step by step.
To create the perfect base, makeup artists backstage prepped model’s skin with Instant Magic Dry Sheet Facial Mask, which infused a mix of vitamin B3 (which can calm skin condition such as rosacea, pigmentation, dehydration and acne) along with firming Crocus Bulb Extract, peptides, oils and butters. The cocktail is the secret to instantly brighter and thirst-quenched skin
After creating the perfect canvas, it’s all about heightening that illusion with the perfect base. Where skin needed slight coverage, Magic Away Concealer was applied, which can help to even out skin tone, hide dark circles and blur imperfections. Hollywood Flawless Filter foundation comes next, which offers a thin, light coverage that is dewy and refining without being cakey. To add slight definition to face, Charlotte’s Hollywood Contour Wand was applied to the temples, cheeks and bridge of the nose.
For a blush that really sinks into the skin rather than rest upon it, makeup artists backstage at Stella McCartney’s Milan show used the new Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips 2 to create a natural flush, a little dot of the new hues blended into cheeks.
Steering clear of anything heavy with the au naturale look, models eyelids were given a glossy effect thanks to a sweep of Charlotte’s Lipstick Conditioner, the Shea Butter ensuring to hydrate rather than irritate. After curling the lashes for a natural lift, thin coats of mascara were applied and brows were kept natural, simply brushed upwards for full effect.
Again keeping things neutral, bright colours were switched out for a softening balm, and lips were also coated in the new Lipstick Conditioner.

In time for the approaching new season, Mui Mui has teased images from its Autumn/Winter 2019 campaign.
When taking to the runway in Paris earlier this year, Miuccia Prada presented a collection that was both earthy and girly.
Think camo print scarves being draped over dresses, pairings of the earthy-green print with tartan jackets and camel-hued capes and sheer dresses with floral embroidery over black slips and likewise-embroidered knee-high socks.
So with the campaign shots for the ready-to-wear collection, the founder of the fashion house decided to take to the great outdoors.
The images presented a group of woman out to explore – both a journey of distance and self-exploration. Taking to the great outdoors, the campaign shots along with the collection represents a sense of adventure and freedom, of wanderlust and yearning of new experiences and challenges.
The images represent an interconnected group on a journey of discovery – of different places, of different selves.
Photographer Eddie Wrey captured the images in the Paws Up ranch which is deep in the Montana state countryside. Adut Akech, Jean Campbell, Abby Champion, Tang He, Meghan Roche, Aliet Sarah and Hailey Rhode Bieber star in the campaign, and their sisterhood is intertwined by mother nature’s watch in the shots.

For its latest high jewellery collection, Cartier has set out to create a unique line of necklaces, rings and bracelets full of flair.
The Magnitude line takes an unusual approach by bringing together an unlikely pair – precious stones and ornamental hard stones rarely side by side for a finish that is bold and full of character.
Think diamonds mixed with rutilated quartz, matrix opals over shining sapphires, emerald greens paired with rock crystal and pink diamond coupled with morganite and coral.
One of the key items in the collection is the pink gold Aphél necklace that is made up of brown rutilated quartz, articulated tassels arranged in a sunray motif around the cabochon gem. Opposites are accentuated with the curves and spikes mixing to create the pendant.
Another striking piece is the Théia necklace which is structured around seven round-shaped Colombian emeralds that have been nestled inside levelled rock crystal motifs, with the geometry and optical illusions designs borrowed from the codes of kinetic art making the piece magnetising.

For the 76th edition of the Venice Film Festival, Giorgio Armani will be the main beauty sponsor and will launch two limited-edition lip products to mark the occasion.
With the countdown to Venice Film Festival for 2019 already in motion – the event will begin on August 28th and run until September 7th – we’re getting more and more eager for details.
And the latest revelation is that Giorgio Armani will serve once again as the main beauty sponsor for the entertainment event. The Italian designer, whose current global ambassador is actress Cate Blanchett, also took on the role for the 2018 festival.
For the occasion, two of the brand’s most popular products will undergo a makeover for a limited time only. Both the Lip Maestro velvet matte lipstick in red the Ecstasy Shine lip cream will be available in opulent gold packaging.
Last year, Giorgio Armani Beauty provided an official make up service to the festival’s guests, including brand ambassadors Cate Blanchett, Barbara Palvin and Sara Sampaio.
On the original collaboration last year, the website stated: “It’s hard to think about Giorgio Armani without bringing cinematic images to mind: not only has he always had a keen eye for subtle storytelling through his advertising campaigns, but he is also known for his constant involvement with the cinema world, working with Hollywood’s biggest star, especially Academy Award-winning actress Cate Blanchett, with whom Giorgio Armani has a special longstanding relationship.”
On his relationship with cinema, Armani himself said previously: “I’ve often wondered what my life would have been without the silver screen… Surely, I would not be the man, nor the designer, I am today.”

Elie Saab naturally designed the wedding dress for Christina Mourad as she tied the knot to Elie Saab Junior in Beruit over the weekend, and here’s what you need to know.
In a lavish three-day ceremony that proved to be the wedding of the year to date, Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab‘s eldest son, Elie Saab Jr, married Christina Mourad on Friday, July 19th.
As a reported 1000 guests headed to the church of Bkerke in the Beirut, Christina Mourad blew attendees (and the entirety of Instagram) away as she arrived in an Haute Couture bridal gown designed by her now father-in-law.
According to reports, the embellished gown took 450 hours to make and included a 4.5-metre train.
The dress featured fine embroidery and intricate patterns, and a high neck bodice was balanced out with a high-volume skirt and a sleeveless cut.
The champagne-hued dress dazzled as it was adorned with thousands of sequins. For the evening, the newly-wed changed into a more relaxed design of a white jumpsuit with a headpiece and an equally glamorous cape.
The couple wed after a 13-month engagement and met several years ago after being introduced by Saab Jr’s little brother, Celio.

Australian actress Margot Robbie has been selected by fashion house Chanel to be the new face of its Gabrielle Chanel Essence fragrance.
Watch the likes of Suicide Squad, The Wolf of Wall Street and Goodbye Christopher Robin, and it’s plain to see that Margot Robbie is both a talented actress and a beautiful woman.
Which is why it’s no surprise that Chanel, perhaps the most famous fashion house in the world, has selected the 29-year-old to front its latest campaign for its Gabrielle Chanel Essence fragrance.
But the French Maison insists that the selection of the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actress wasn’t based on those merits alone, stating it is her “captivating personality” which enabled her to be a candidate for the campaign.
Created by In-House Perfumer Olivier Polge in cooperation with the Chanel Laboratory of
Fragrance Creation and Development, the aroma was created as the olfactory interpretation of the house’s founder Gabrielle Chanel.
It reveals a trail that is more “voluptuous and opulent, solar and enveloping,” and has been composed around four white flowers – jasmine, ylang-ylang, orange blossom and tuberose – each of which is revered by Chanel. The new essence also gives a majestic role to Grasse tuberose.
Robbie first started working with the brand in 2018 under the guide of Karl Lagerfeld.
The scent will be available from September 1st, 2019.
